Crown Center
The Crown Center is located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is in fact a 85-acre mixed-use complex, with offices, hotels, a residential area and a shopping center. It was built in 1971 on the former site of some warehouses and abandoned parking lots. The mall consists of 300,000 square feet divided into three levels of upscale shops with an exquisite design, bound to offer an unforgettable shopping experience. It is estimated that 5 million people visit this mall each year.
There are more than 60 shops and services in this mall. Major stores include Waldenbooks, Victoria's Secret, and Hallmark Crown Center. There are 14 quick-service restaurants and 12 full-service restaurants. The mall is open Monday to Wednesday and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
One of the popular attractions of this mall is the Crown Center Square Fountain with 49 jets. Having fun is surely a must here, as the center boasts two live theatre stages with Broadway-style productions, plus a movie theatre. If this is not enough, you can also visit the surrounding area. Kaleidoscope, Science City, Liberty Memorial Museum, Hallmark Visitors Center, and Union Station Theatre District are located in the proximity of this mall.
There is a parking garage which offers the first three hours of parking for free, with a possibility to add another 3 hours if the person can prove that they bought merchandise of $25. Families may appreciate stroller rental, but this is the only children-oriented amenity of the mall.
